Half Way Through Third Year

Assalamualaikum :p

Happy new year everyone. It's  nearly two weeks over 2017.  I am turning 23 years old this year. I just got back from my winter break. I went to London, Budapest, Vienna, Salzburg and Prague. The trip was nothing but amazing. The new term will start in a few days (16th January). I am half way through my third year now. That being said, if I pass al of my courses last semester. InshaAllah, hopefully.

This year will be me going through spring, summer, autumn for the second last time. I want to graduate excellently, but at the same time, I am too in love with Edinburgh and the UK that I sometimes feel like not leaving. Even for the non-UK residents, the services and the quality of life that I have here are so much better than back home. Makes me wonder why are human rights are strictly preserved here and not the same back home. The answer is it's up to us to go back and spread the good things we learn from living here.

My subject for this term is Field Skill for Geologist. It is a full field trip course. I already had one (two weeks) field trip last summer. Another one will be a nine-day-trip to Spain and the last one is a nine-day-trip to Mull, Scotland. Next course is called Practical Geochemistry and Data Analysis. This was the course I hated so much from last semester. This year will be a lab-based project and a write-up report. Hope I will survive this and pass the course. There are lots of programming as well.

The third course is Igneous, Metamorphic and Ore Processes. No idea what's waiting for me but I hope it's a good one. No comment on this course yet. It's a new course. Everything is new for our year. Kate is the Course Organiser. (Could be a good thing as she is very organised.) The last one is the most erk course for me. Structural Analysis and Rock Regions by Florian. I am flipping scared for this course as he is also our Course Organiser for the mapping project (our kind of Final Year Project this summer). I really really hope things will go smoothly until graduation.

There are going to be a lot of lab works and journal reading and hard work to survive this term. Hence, Farah Asri, please focus and improve yourself. Stop thinking rubbish and ignore the people that have done hurtful things to you. Leave them here. Be happy and forgive, forgive and forgive.
Stop analysing and trying to give reasons for why they did what they did. They simply don't care. Leave it and move on. It's all parts and parcels of life. :)

Till next post.

xx
Farah Asri
